 BASI Cylinder Lock ES 958

The BASI cylinder lock ES 958 with a profile cylinder hole is specifically designed for narrow doors, such as doors with a metal or plastic tube frame. This lock offers an ideal solution thanks to its exceptional strength and durability, which are due to the use of high-quality stainless steel. The lock is versatile and suitable for both right- and left-hand opening doors. Additionally, it meets the strict standards of DIN 18251-2, class 1, meaning it fully complies with the requirements for mortise locks for tube frame doors.

It is very important to properly maintain your lock, especially if it is frequently exposed to the elements. Dirt and corrosion can build up, especially during cold and harsh weather. Therefore, we recommend lubricating your door lock at least twice a year or ideally with each change of season.  

To ensure your lock operates smoothly again, we recommend using lubricants such as WD-40 WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE. The correct use of these oils is essential.

In general, there are two solutions for lock maintenance: prevention/protection and troubleshooting.

If a lock is difficult to open, it can be due to two reasons: 
​
​ ​ ​ ​1. The key and the lock are not yet properly aligned, which often occurs with a new lock.

​ ​ ​ ​2. There is dirt buildup or rust formation in the lock.

In these cases, we recommend using WD-40 WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE to solve the problem. This prevents rust from forming in the lock. However, it is important to apply the oil in the correct spot within the lock so that the WD-40 reaches the moving parts to ensure proper lubrication.
